LED screens
Exhibited at Centraal Museum – Utrecht, The Netherlands
Alarm in the Universe is an installation of an immersive light animation divided over four low-resolution LED screens, covered by a special light enhancing canvas. The screens are sources of light that convey the animation shown on them. The animation itself is an abstract narrative of hue and glow, suggesting a fictional journey through abandoned spaces, places, and spacecrafts on a variety of visits to undisclosed planets. Roughly thirty scenes supported by a detailed soundtrack form a spatial installation, a three-dimensional environment. With a delay in evolution that suggests a virtual space, the screens and sounds evoke enough to constitute tangible time and space, but not enough to determine exact locations or actions.
